Summer Service Projects

Summer time is a hard time to bring your key club together to do projects. However there are many things that clubs can do in the summer for a service project. During the summer there are middle and elementary schools that do summer classes and are in need of high school tutors. Your club can donate their time to helping and volunteering there. There are also places that are in need of many, local charities and shelters could always use donations. Start a fundraiser to contribute. Find inventive and creative ways to raise money to donate. Along with those service projects there are always things you can do that doesn’t require raising money. Local food banks are always in need of the obvious, food!

Your key club can organize a project to raise donated food to give to them. During the summer don’t
forget about your school! The school needs help to improve its look. Volunteer your club to paint walls,
fix things, plant flowers, pick up trash and what ever the school is in need of. Because the weather is
nice do projects outside. Improve a park, pick up yards, or mow lawns for money. Since it is summer,
don’t make it all work and no play. Do a fun service project to help your club. Throw a BBQ or a summer
pool party to make your club closer! Do at least one thing over the summer to improve your club.
Remember projects should be fun, not a drag. So keep in mind this factor when planning your summer
service project!
